A Modern Accent in a Historical Context
In 2012, Skyform Studio created the uniquedry deckfountain “Cube” on Pokrovska Square in Sumy. This project became a harmonious addition to the historical environment, located next to the unusual monument to refined sugar. The fountain was designed with the same dimensions as the monument, symbolizing the connection between the past and modernity in urban architecture.
The “Cube” fountain is a combination of minimalism and dynamic water movement. It embodies the idea of motion, transformation, and urban renewal. Its form was inspired by the nearby refined sugar monument, which represents the city’s historic glory as a center of sugar production.
